A VisBug alternative for reading a site's design
VisBug, the open-source design debugging extension from Google Chrome Labs, was archived on GitHub on 15 September 2026, and its store listing has had no update since November 2024. If you used it to find out which colors, fonts and spacing a site uses, Stylasso does that part in one click and gives you the result as files you can paste.
What is different
VisBug is an element inspector and editor: you point at one element, read or change its styles on the page. Stylasso reads the whole page at once and turns it into a style kit: the palette with roles, the fonts it really renders, the type scale, spacing grid, radii and shadows. It does not edit the page.

When to use which
If you need to nudge one element on a live page, an inspector is the right tool (the browser's own DevTools does this well). If you want to know a site's design system, compare it with your own, or hand it to an AI coding tool, Stylasso is built for that.
How it works
- Open a site and click the Stylasso icon.
- Read the colors with their roles and contrast, the fonts with samples, the type scale and the shapes.
- Copy it as CSS variables, a Tailwind v4 theme, a DESIGN.md or JSON, or save a moodboard PNG.
Try it on three sample sites on the home page without installing anything.
